By mere chance, a cowboy herding cattle in a remote section on his ranch stumbles upon a broken strongbox spewing documents and tape recordings. The rancher, curious about the chest's contents, listens to the tapes and becomes the first human to pierce the inner circle of a mysterious group of otherworldly beings called Darksiders.

No one knows who or what recorded the bizarre "award" ceremony heard on the tapes, but one thing becomes evident: The Darksiders’ ultimate mission is to destroy the spiritual connection between humans and the Creator.

Hosted by a high-ranking Infernal Affairs bureaucrat named SCREWOVER, the Darksiders are apparently celebrating their nefarious deeds and achievements over the past two millennia. As each honoree is called to the podium, the evidence is increasingly clear that the Darksiders have used capitalist greed, organized religion, and political ambition–GOLD, GOD, and GLORY–to further their evil agenda.

The transcript becomes more and more fascinating as Darksider after Darksider describes his award-winning infiltration and dissipation of world leaders. No one, it seems, has escaped the Darksiders’ attention. Peter the Great, numerous popes, Harry S. Truman, Golda Meir, Ronald Reagan, Kenneth Starr, George W. Bush, Osama bin Laden and thousands more have all succumbed to the skillful and subtle influences of this irreverent group. Who knows how the Darksiders have changed the course of history and the fate of mankind?

Why, for example, did the Vatican choose to demonize Communism?  What was the real reason America entered World War I?   What really motivated the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor?  Why did Truman start the Cold War?   How has Eisenhower’s shopping mall tax break program fostered urban sprawl?  How did Nixon’s grain policy destroy the family farm and spark America’s obesity epidemic?  Why did Ronald Reagan flip flop from ardent unionist and New Deal supporter to rabid anti-communist?  Why does the rest of the world now consider the United States government the cruelest criminal regime in history?
